Community guidelines

Syncy works because people trust the stranger in the next seat. These are the few rules everyone agrees to, riders and passengers alike.
Share costs, not a business
- Rides on Syncy share the cost of a drive you're already making. They aren't a way to earn.
- Only private vehicles. Taxis and other commercial or yellow-plate vehicles can't be used.
- Fares stay within twice what Syncy suggests for the distance, and a rider can post up to 4 rides a day.
- Passengers pay the amount the app showed. Don't ask for more, and don't offer more.
Be on time, or say so
- Be at the pickup on time. If you're running late, tell the other person in the chat.
- If your plans change, cancel in the app as early as you can, so the seat can go to someone else.
Respect everyone
- No harassment, threats, or unwanted contact, in the ride or in the chat.
- No discrimination based on religion, caste, gender, disability or where someone is from.
- Keep chats about the ride. Don't press anyone for their number or other details.
Be who you say you are
- Use your real name. If you add a photo, make it a clear one of you.
- Riders drive only with their own valid licence, and with the owner's permission if the vehicle isn't theirs.
Ride safely
- Follow traffic rules. Helmets on a bike, seatbelts in a car.
- Stop only where it's safe, never on an expressway.
Our safety page has more on what the app does during a ride.
If someone breaks these rules
Report them from the app, or write to support@syncy.in. A person at Syncy reads every report. Depending on what happened, we may remove a rider's verified badge or suspend the account. Our Terms of Service apply to everyone using Syncy.
