Welcome to Syncy. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Syncy mobile application ("App"), operated by Syncy ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Syncy. If you intend to post a ride as a rider, you must hold a valid driving license and a validly registered vehicle in your name, and must comply with all applicable traffic and motor vehicle laws.
Syncy is a technology platform that connects individuals traveling similar routes at similar times, so they can share a ride — on either a two-wheeler (bike/scooter) or a four-wheeler (car) — and split associated costs (such as fuel and maintenance). Syncy is not a taxi, cab-aggregator, or commercial transport service, and fares displayed or agreed between users must reflect genuine cost-sharing, not commercial profit.
Ride-pooling for private, non-commercial cost-sharing is recognized under India's Motor Vehicle Aggregators Guidelines, 2020, issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under Section 93 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (official announcement: pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1881700). These guidelines explicitly provide for ride-pooling as a way to reduce traffic congestion and vehicular pollution. Syncy operates as a cost-sharing platform within this framework, and encourages the shared-mobility, lower-emission commuting it supports.
By sharing a ride instead of commuting alone, users also contribute to reducing per-commuter fuel consumption and vehicle emissions — supporting a cleaner, less congested city.
All users must provide accurate account information and behave respectfully and lawfully toward other users.
Riders (vehicle owners posting a ride) must hold a valid driving license and vehicle registration for the vehicle used, maintain the vehicle in safe, roadworthy condition, and comply with all applicable traffic laws.
Riders and Passengers travelling on a two-wheeler must each wear an ISI-certified helmet at all times during the ride, as required by applicable Motor Vehicles Act provisions. By posting or accepting a two-wheeler ride on Syncy, you confirm that both the rider and pillion passenger have and will wear a certified helmet for the entire journey.
Riders and Passengers travelling in a four-wheeler must wear seatbelts at all times during the ride, as required by applicable Motor Vehicles Act provisions.
Syncy cannot verify helmet or seatbelt use in person; this is a self-certification and safety reminder, not a guarantee enforced by the platform.
You may not use Syncy to: operate a commercial taxi or delivery service; create fake or duplicate accounts; harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users; charge fares that are not genuine cost-sharing; or otherwise misuse the platform.
Syncy is a technology platform that facilitates introductions between independent commuters. We are not a party to any ride arrangement, and we do not own, operate, or control any vehicle used through the App. Riders and Passengers travel entirely at their own risk and discretion.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Syncy disclaims all liability for any accident, injury, death, property damage, loss, dispute, or other harm arising from or related to a ride arranged through the App, including but not limited to vehicle accidents, traffic violations, or conduct of any user. Users are encouraged to carry appropriate personal accident/vehicle insurance.
Syncy allows users to rate and review each other after a completed ride, and to report or block other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, receive repeated credible reports, or pose a safety risk to other users, at our discretion.
Syncy does not currently process any payments. Any fare amount shown in the App is informational only, to be settled directly between the rider and passenger outside the App, on a cost-sharing basis as described in Section 3.
Syncy uses Google Maps features and content. By using Syncy, you agree to be bound by the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service (maps.google.com/help/terms_maps) and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Routes, distances and travel times shown in the App are estimates. Riders must follow traffic laws and actual road conditions, and should only look at or use the App when it is safe to do so.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the App will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of [CITY/STATE — placeholder, to be filled in before publishing], India.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
