Ride safely
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Syncy is for people sharing a drive they're already making. Here's what the app does to keep that safe, and what you can do before, during and after a ride.
In an emergency, call 112. Syncy is not an emergency service. During a ride, the SOS button in the app calls 112 from your phone.
Before the ride
- Check who you're riding with. Every rider sends their driving licence and RC, and a person at Syncy checks both before they can post a ride. Look for the verified badge, and read the rating and reviews.
- Riders choose too. A rider sees your photo, rating and reviews before accepting your request.
- Match the number plate. The full vehicle number shows once you're booked. If a different person or vehicle turns up, don't get in, and report "Different person or vehicle" in the app.
- Late-night drops. If your drop is late at night, the app reminds you to make sure you have a safe way home from there.
During the ride
- Helmet and seatbelt. On a bike, both of you wear a helmet. In a car, everyone wears a seatbelt.
- SOS is one tap away. While a ride is running, SOS lets you call 112, share the ride with your emergency contacts, or tell Syncy where you are. Your emergency contacts are saved only on your phone.
- Talk in the app. Use the in-app chat for pickup details. Quick replies like "Running 5 min late" are one tap.
- Stop only where it's safe. Riders should accept a pickup or drop only where they can stop safely, and never stop on an expressway.
After the ride
- Rate honestly. Both of you rate each other, so the next person knows what to expect.
- Report anything that felt wrong. You can report anyone you've ridden with. Reports are read by a person at Syncy.
- Block if you need to. Blocking hides you from each other, and they're never told.
Your details stay private
- Your phone number and email aren't shown on your profile. Riders and passengers talk in the app.
- Other passengers on the same ride never see your name, your pickup or your drop.
- The full vehicle number is shown only to the rider's accepted passengers.
